Congratulations on your 1st birthday! Your blog has so much information on Essex that I wish I had ancestors there ;-) Lots to learn from it as well about medieval history, life and times. Onwards and upwards in Year 2.

Thank you for your kind comment, Pauleen. And for your blog award – in re-reading my comment I left on your blog, I think I was very ungrateful and ungracious! I’m sorry – I really do appreciate it! I’ve enjoyed writing my posts – it’s certainly helped keep me sane during what has been a very stressful year. Also, in the UK, Essex has a very bad name so hopefully my blog is redressing that and showing that it was a very vibrant place (and still is but now for all the wrong reasons! Just google ‘Essex jokes’ to see what I mean).
